Panos Canada is a Canadian NGO working on pluralism, media, human security, international justice and peacebuilding. Panos works in partnership with others, especially with other Panos institutes worldwide.
Working both in Canada and internationally, Panos seeks to mobilise the rich resources of Canada's civil society, and to reflect some key aspects of the Canadian identity and of Canada's international posture. These characteristics include diversity, consensus and multi-culturalism; a respect for First Nations; a concern for international justice, peacebuilding and human security; and an equal respect for French-speaking and English-speaking cultures.
Panos Canada was registered in October 2003 as a federal not-for-profit organisation under the Canada Corporations Act (file 419108-1). it is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Panos Canada works closely with the Panos Foundation of Canada, registered charity 80494 7471 RR0001.
To work in Canada and internationally towards more sustainable human development, greater human security, and peacebuilding.
To these ends, to help strengthen plural media and civil society, and to help raise public understanding of critical global issues.
